All the flags in Manila are half- masked. This is to give respect to the death of Comedy King, Dolphy. He died yesterday at around 8:34 in the evening. Eric Quizon said that his father died because of a cardiac arrest. Eric also said that they have already prepared themselves of what is inevitable. Even if Dolphy was responding well to the treatments, they could not assure themselves because many of his organs had malfunctioned. Governor Vilma Santos- Recto said that she is really sad when she had known that Dolphy died. They have been together in the industry for a long time. She said that Dolphy should have been awarded before. He had contributed so much to the show business industry. Meanwhile, many of Dolphy’s supporters went to the hospital when they have heard that he died. They were not allowed to enter the hospital premises so they stayed outside the hospital. Filipinos on social blogging website Tumblr are rolling out tributes to the king of Philippine comedy Dolphy, who died Tuesday night. The UNESCO International Theatre Institute (ITI)-Earthsavers Academy has expressed sadness over the death of the country's "King of Comedy" Dolphy. In a statement, the president of the Philippine Center of the International Theatre Institute Cecile Guidote-Alvarez said they join the nation’s grief with the passing of the veteran comedian. Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire Jr. not only broke Jeffrey Mathebula’s tooth during their title unification bout, he actually busted the South African’s jaw. The California Boxing Commission (CBC) doctor initially diagnosed Mathebula with having a broken tooth following the South African’s 12-round defeat to Donaire.
